Keeping information secure on the web is vital – not just for people giving out their details, but for the websites receiving them. Google recognises this and has announced that from January 2017, users of their popular Chrome browser will be alerted if a site that collects passwords or credit card details is not secure enough to do so. The alert will come in the form of a ‘not secure’ label next to the URL in the browser’s address bar.

If you don’t take payments on your website, or you offer online sales via PayPal transactions, then don’t panic – your site will still be safe for customers and clients to use.

If your website requires a higher level of security for your customers or clients, we work with you to ensure you have a valid SSL certificate if required, making your website both user-friendly and Google-friendly.

Client benefits

Getting your new website live is just the first step – that’s when the real fun starts! At GOOP Digital, we don’t believe in a set-and-forget mentality. Our Geelong web developers, designers, copywriters and SEO gurus are always working away like busy bees in the background, keeping up to date with what works and how to keep your website prominent with the big cheese – Google.

Google hasn’t been shy about the fact they are rewarding businesses who take the time to develop and grow their online profile – especially their Google My Business account. We recently worked with a Geelong café to tweak their Google account, including adding photographs from the outside of the café. That photo alone resulted in almost 500 views on Google Maps – in just one week!

Please contact us if you’re interested in finding out more about how to boost your website profile in Google.
