WordPress, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways?*
There are good reasons web developers such as GOOP in Geelong use WordPress as the content management system for websites.
“Really?” I hear you say.
What are those reasons,” you ask?
“There’s a pile of other content management systems out there and I don’t think WordPress is the best,” you declare with a smug sneer.
Well, you’re entitled to your opinion, just like climate change deniers, flat-earthers and those who reckon Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison went off-grid and formed a partnership to run a burger joint in South America.
And I’ll happily tell you that while you’re entitled to your opinion, you’re wrong!
Arrogant? Not really, just factual.
New research shows that WordPress is the driving force behind 25 percent of all the websites in the world and that its next two closest rivals – we won’t even lower ourselves to name them here – are the so-called engines “driving” not even five percent of websites. Driving gets the “quotation marks” treatment because some cynics would argue any CMS that isn’t WordPress isn’t “driving”, let alone “powering”, a website.
Our web developers here in Geelong are on a winner with WordPress, and the rest of the world appears to be following suit.
The statistics from W3Techs’ Matthias Gelbmann show that in October alone almost 30 percent of all new websites on the planet were WordPress sites and that a new site in the top 10 million implemented the WordPress CMS every minute or so. The next closest CMS gained a new site only every 22 minutes. WordPress is so far ahead it’s not even funny.
What makes WordPress so good?
How long have you got?
From GOOP’s perspective, WordPress is our CMS of choice because it’s powerful, SEO-friendly, consistent, works beautifully with social media, comes with countless plug-ins that expand its functionality, is mobile friendly, easy for the web developers in our Geelong HQ to work with … the list goes on and on and on.
From a client’s perspective, WordPress is ridiculously easy to use, exceptionally forgiving and – as we’ve said – phenomenally powerful when it comes to marketing businesses online.
Some web developers use WordPress and its vast resource of themes as the basis for their websites but at GOOP we tailor-make custom themes for each client, ensuring every one of our clients has their own unique WordPress site reflecting their own branding and the products and services they provide.
If you’d like to join the masses taking advantage of WordPress, make sure you talk to GOOP, the web developers Geelong and the rest of the country are turning to for websites that deliver, without resorting to dodgy backlinks and other suspect short-term SEO practices that will eventually come unstuck.
