Throughout September we have been posting tips on our Facebook Page about how to use Google Analytics data to improve the performance of your website.
Google Analytics is added to GOOP websites as standard practice and we encourage all our clients to check their website’s analytics and use the data to develop an online marketing plan. If you missed our month of Google Analytics tips on Facebook, you can read our comprehensive summary in our blog post: How to use Google Analytics data to improve the performance of your website.

What’s happening?
GOOP Managing Director Karl Morris attended the 2014 Google Analytics User Conference at the Melbourne Arts Centre mid-September. A timely event which tied in with our monthly educational topic about how to use Google Analytics data to improve the performance of your website! Karl rubbed shoulders with Google’s own Digital Marketing Evangelist and conference keynote speaker Avinash Kaushik. The conference reinforced what we already know about the Google Analytics service, but did give insight into upcoming features which we will explore as they become available. As always, we will keep you informed about anything that could assist you with your online presence.
GOOP featured site
Sailors’ Rest recently engaged GOOP to build a new website for their business. When the client came to GOOP, they were aware they didn’t have any big, beautiful images of their business and unique location on Geelong’s waterfront. However, they wanted the design of the site to incorporate pictures of their business, so they engaged the services of a professional commercial photographer to ensure their business, food, drinks and location visually shine.
As a result of the impressive image bank the client acquired, GOOP did not use any stock images. This means the website design is entirely unique to this business. Because we are SEO specialists, we also aim to make sure your website is highly visible in Google’s search results. The text content was beautifully written and complied with Google’s best practice guidelines.
We loved working with Sailors’ Rest and admired their dedication to provide high-quality material to be used when building their website. The website also features a mobile and tablet compatible responsive design powered by WordPress, with PDF gift vouchers (eCommerce).
GOOP client benefits
On September 4 WordPress released Version 4.0 – an update to the Content Management System (CMS) on which we build our websites. Many of you will be familiar with WordPress since we have now been using it for over 12 months.
Our web developers have just finished updating all GOOP WordPress websites to this latest version. One of the benefits of this update is the ability to see a preview when you paste the link of a video into the editor mode of pages and/or posts.
Updates to your CMS is part of our service to you. GOOP is vigilant about protecting the security of your website. Many clients who come to us after having a previous developer often have not had their CMS updated for two or three years! This unnecessarily exposes the security of your business via your website.
