As we posted on our Facebook page recently, May is D-Day for non-responsive websites. This month, Google is updating their super-secret ranking algorithms to increase the value of responsive websites – and you don’t want your site to be left out in the cold when it comes to mobile search results.
Google is determined to show searchers relevant, helpful results – so eventually, non-mobile websites will not appear in mobile search results and websites could lose a significant share of traffic.
While the impact won’t be instant, this is an ideal reminder for non-responsive websites to join the party. If you’re not sure whether your website is responsive, log in to your Google account and search for your site. You’ll see a warning that “Your page is not mobile-friendly” underneath the search results.
